Job description
Seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to independently develop complex mechanical components and assemblies from concept to validation for scientific and industrial equipment. Responsibilities include designing robust parts, creating CAD models and drawings, performing tolerance analyses, and defining manufacturing requirements.
Project overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to independently develop complex mechanical components and assemblies. You will work on challenging projects in the field of scientific and industrial equipment construction, from the concept phase to validation.
Your responsibilities include the design of robust and precise components, the creation and maintenance of CAD models, parts lists, and manufacturing drawings, as well as performing tolerance analyses. You will define fits, geometric tolerances, and dimensional specifications and translate system-related requirements into manufacturable mechanical solutions. Furthermore, you will define manufacturing requirements in coordination with suppliers and participate in the development, testing, and optimization of prototypes.
You will actively participate in design reviews and support technical decisions in mechanical or precision engineering.
You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Precision Engineering and demonstrable experience in the design of complex assemblies or special machines. Profound knowledge of industry-standard CAD software is required, ideally with corresponding certification. You have practical experience with tolerance analyses, geometric product specifications, and Design for Manufacturing principles. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly processes is necessary. Experience in scientific equipment construction, semiconductor technology, or optics is desirable.
Know-how in high-precision systems under special conditions (vacuum, cryogenics, vibration) is advantageous. Good German and English language skills complete your profile.
The work location is in North Rhine-Westphalia with on-site presence.
