Senior Microsoft Security Engineer

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Microsoft Security Engineer for a hybrid position in the Netherlands. In this role, you will help organizations transform their investments in the Microsoft security ecosystem into measurable risk reduction.

As a Senior Microsoft Security Engineer, you will design, implement, and manage enterprise-wide security solutions that improve the security posture, support compliance, and enable true security transformation for clients. This is a hands-on, consulting-oriented role where you will conduct maturity assessments, develop roadmaps, and implement them – in close collaboration with client SOC teams and senior stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include leading the implementation and optimization of Microsoft security solutions, assessing security maturity, developing security baselines and governance frameworks, and identifying gaps and recommending remediation measures. You will deploy and manage solutions from the Microsoft Defender Suite, Sentinel, Entra ID, and Purview, apply Zero Trust principles, and conduct security assessments aligned with CIS, NIST, and ISO 27001 standards.

You bring at least 8 years of cybersecurity experience, with 4+ years focused on Microsoft security technologies. You have in-depth expertise in Microsoft Defender Suite, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Entra ID, as well as knowledge of Security Posture Management, Azure security, and Zero Trust Architecture. Experience with security assessments, governance, and risk management is required. You communicate clearly with technical teams and senior stakeholders, work collaboratively, and are analytical and structured in your approach. Fluent Dutch and English are required.
