Senior Modern Workplace Engineer

Project overview

Our client is looking for a hands-on Senior Modern Workplace Engineer to close a critical gap in how they see, patch, and control the laptops, desktops, and phones, both company-owned and personal, that connect to their systems. This is a delivery-focused six-month engagement, with everything you build handed over to the internal IT team at close.

Microsoft Intune, NinjaOne, Cloudflare, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Windows, macOS, iOS/Android

• Running a full device inventory and bringing all workstations under MDM
• Defining Windows and macOS build standards and compliance policies, signed off by IT and Security
• Bringing existing workstations into line with those baselines, working directly with users and IT teams to manage the transition
• Establishing a patch baseline across the estate, with automated patching and enforced patch SLAs for all workstations
• Fully enrolling macOS devices into Intune with compliance policies applied, combining on-site enrolment with remote, user-assisted enrolment where people can't attend site
• Delivering a BYOD enrolment and deployment path so personal devices accessing corporate email are onboarded under a defined policy
• Leading a formal handover to Internal IT, with named owners and signed-off acceptance
• Senior to principal level, with proven hands-on endpoint engineering experience
• Strong Microsoft Intune experience across Windows and macOS, including compliance policies and enrolment at scale
• Working knowledge of NinjaOne, Cloudflare, Entra ID, and Microsoft 365
• Experience supporting iOS and Android devices, including BYOD scenarios
• A track record of establishing patching standards and SLAs across a mixed estate
• Confident stakeholder management, able to work with end users, IT, and Security through change
• Clear documentation and handover discipline, leaving a team able to own what you've built
