Senior Network Engineer

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer for an exciting project at a location in North Rhine-Westphalia. The position is designed with a 60% remote component and offers a project duration of at least 16 months.

Your responsibilities include the conception, implementation, and operation of SD-WAN infrastructures, as well as the administration of modern edge devices and associated management platforms. You will develop network architectures, define technical standards, and establish security policies. Furthermore, you will plan and execute rollouts and migrations in distributed network environments, monitor network performance, and continuously optimize it. You will handle incidents and changes, perform firmware updates, and coordinate external service providers.

For this position, you need sound knowledge of modern network technologies such as Layer 2/3, routing, SD-WAN, IPsec, QoS, and network segmentation. Practical experience with common SD-WAN solutions and their management tools is required. You should have extensive experience in network operations, monitoring, and troubleshooting, as well as be familiar with change, release, and patch management. Experience with network rollouts and migrations in distributed environments is necessary.

We expect very good German language skills, strong analytical and solution-oriented abilities, as well as organizational skills and initiative. Knowledge of common collaboration and office tools, as well as ticketing systems, is advantageous. You work independently, structured, and flexibly.
