Senior Network & Security Engineer (Sophos) Projects & 3rd Level Support for MSP

Must-Have Criteria

Desirable (All-Rounder Profile)

• Planning, implementation, and migration of firewall and network projects for clients, with a focus on Sophos Firewall (XGS)
• 3rd Level Support / Escalation point for network and security topics
• Audits and optimization of existing firewall rule sets (rule hygiene, web filter, IPS, TLS inspection, performance)
• Conception and operation of VPN (Site-to-Site, Remote Access), SD-WAN with multiple uplinks and HA clusters
• Network design: VLAN segmentation, switching/routing, WLAN
• Support with security topics related to Sophos Central / MDR and endpoint protection
• Several years of practical experience with Sophos Firewall (XG/XGS, SFOS), ideally Sophos certification (Architect / Engineer)
• Profound network knowledge: TCP/IP, routing, VLANs, NAT, IPsec/SSL VPN, DNS
• Experience in project business with medium-sized clients
• Independent, structured way of working and good documentation discipline
• Very good German language skills, both written and spoken (client contact)
• Microsoft environment: Active Directory, Entra ID / Intune, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online
• Switching and WLAN, e.g., HPE Aruba
• Experience in the MSP environment, preferably with Autotask PSA, Datto RMM, and IT Glue
• Further security topics: MDR/XDR, hardening, ISO 27001 or TISAX requirements
• VoIP/UC basics (e.g., 3CX) in conjunction with firewall and QoS
