Project overview

Mission Context

On behalf of a large French group with a complex and highly distributed information system, we are looking for a Senior Network, Telecom & Cybersecurity Architect to support a major infrastructure transformation and modernization program.

You will work in a demanding technical environment, combining datacenters, numerous remote sites, operator networks, Cloud interconnections, and cybersecurity infrastructures.

Your role will be to design and evolve Network & Telecom architectures, while ensuring their security, resilience, and consistency with group standards.

Profile Sought

You have significant experience in Network & Telecom architecture, ideally gained within large groups or complex, multi-site environments.

You possess solid technical expertise in networking, combined with a real mastery of cybersecurity applied to infrastructures.

• The design and evolution of a large-scale Secure SD-WAN architecture.
• The modernization of DMZ architectures and secure application exposure.
• Design and evolve LAN/WAN, datacenter, VPN, SD-WAN, and Cloud Networking architectures.
• Define interconnection architectures between sites, datacenters, operator networks, and Cloud environments.
• Support network transformation projects, segmentation, and infrastructure modernization.
• Ensure the availability, performance, resilience, and maintainability of proposed solutions.
• Evaluate and challenge technological choices and solutions from manufacturers and integrators.
• Integrate cybersecurity requirements from the design of network architectures.
• Design and evolve perimeter security architectures: firewalls, DMZ, WAF, reverse proxy, and remote access.
• Define principles for segmentation, isolation, and traffic security.
• Contribute to discussions around Zero Trust, SASE/SSE, and Secure SD-WAN architectures.
• Identify technical and security risks related to interconnections.
• Participate in architecture audits, security recommendations, and remediation plans.
• Produce architecture deliverables: DAT, HLD/LLD, technical diagrams, scoping notes, traffic matrices, and recommendations.
• Define and evolve architecture standards and patterns.
• Participate in architecture committees and reviews.
• Support architects, project managers, and Network, Security, Cloud, and Infrastructure teams.
• Contribute to technical orientations and SI transformation roadmaps.
• Network: LAN/WAN, BGP/OSPF routing, MPLS, switching, VLAN/VRF, VPN, SD-WAN.
• Security: NGFW, network segmentation, DMZ, WAF, reverse proxy, Zero Trust, interconnection security.
• Datacenter: load balancing, high availability, hybrid architectures.
• Cloud Networking: Cloud/on-premise interconnections and traffic security.
• Vendors: Cisco, Arista, Fortinet, Palo Alto, F5, HPE, or equivalents.
• Architecture: target architecture design, DAT, standards, patterns, and technical governance.
• Experience with large-scale Secure SD-WAN deployments.
• Expertise in application exposure architectures and DMZs.
• Knowledge of SASE/SSE, SDN approaches, and network automation.
• Proficiency in TOGAF, ArchiMate, SAFe, LeanIX, Jira/Confluence, or Draw.io.

Requirements

Beyond your technical expertise, you can take a step back, challenge needs, and defend your recommendations to various stakeholders.

You are capable of working autonomously in a cross-functional environment, with a consulting architect posture and a strong sensitivity to cybersecurity issues.
