Senior Oracle Developer

Project overview

Our client is looking for a Senior Oracle Developer on a short term piece of work, working out of their office in Farnborough three days a week and two days from home. This role is Inside IR35.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oracle Developer with strong expertise in Oracle Database, PL/SQL development, performance optimisation, database design, and enterprise application integration.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, optimising, and maintaining complex Oracle database solutions while ensuring high performance, scalability, reliability, and data integrity. The role requires strong analytical skills, technical leadership, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional development, architecture, and business teams.

• Oracle Database Development
• Design, develop, and maintain complex Oracle PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects.
• Develop efficient SQL queries and database solutions supporting enterprise applications.
• Implement database enhancements based on functional and technical requirements.
• Develop and maintain data models, schemas, tables, indexes, views, and materialised views.
• Ensure database solutions follow established coding standards and best practices.
• Experience on API connectivity and Json Payload
• Performance Tuning & Optimisation
• Analyse and optimise complex SQL queries and PL/SQL code to improve application performance.
• Identify and resolve database performance bottlenecks.
• Optimise indexing strategies, query execution, and database resource utilisation.
• Support performance testing and capacity planning activities.
• Application Integration & Data Management
• Develop and maintain database interfaces supporting enterprise applications.
• Develop data validation, reconciliation, and error-handling mechanisms.
• Support integration between Oracle databases, APIs, and external systems.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across integrated applications.
• Technical Leadership & Collaboration
• Participate in technical design discussions.
• Conduct code reviews.
• Prepare technical documentation, design specifications, and implementation plans.
