Region Skåne is seeking a senior OT automation engineer responsible for developing, troubleshooting, and deploying automation solutions in business-critical OT environments.

The role includes work with PLC and safety PLC systems, SCADA, operator panels, industrial networks, robots, and associated system integrations. Work is conducted in close collaboration with operations, technical specialists, IT, and other stakeholders. Great emphasis is placed on robustness, availability, security, and structured change management.

The role involves:

• Developing, programming, and troubleshooting PLC and safety PLC systems
• Developing solutions in Ignition SCADA and Rockwell FactoryTalk View ME
• Performing electrical troubleshooting with support from electrical, control, and automation schematics
• Programming, configuring, and troubleshooting Fanuc robots and associated interfaces
• Planning and executing testing, verification, deployment, and handover in a production environment
• Contributing to standardization, reusable solutions, and a long-term sustainable structure for automation systems
• Establishing and maintaining technical documentation, manuals, program versions, and knowledge bases
• Ensuring that changes are implemented in a controlled and traceable manner, considering operations, security, and surrounding systems

• Several years of documented experience in programming and troubleshooting Rockwell PLC systems
• Very good ability to read and understand electrical, control, and automation schematics
• Documented experience in electrical troubleshooting in automation facilities
• Documented experience in testing, verification, and deployment of automation solutions in a production environment
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and ability to apply structured and reusable programming principles
• Experience with version control of software, configurations, manuals, and knowledge bases
• Experience in developing and maintaining technical documentation, manuals, and change documentation
• Understanding of IT and OT security, as well as the different requirements and conditions applicable in each environment
• Experience in programming and deployment of servo drives
• Experience in development in Ignition SCADA
• Experience in development in Rockwell FactoryTalk View ME
• Experience in programming and troubleshooting Fanuc robots
• Knowledge of and experience working according to the ISA-88/S88 standard
• Knowledge of machine safety and CE-related requirements
• Experience in programming and troubleshooting safety PLCs
• Experience from the public sector, healthcare, or other critical infrastructure operations
• Ability to see the big picture in complex automation and OT environments and understand how a change affects surrounding systems and operations
• Ability to independently drive technical issues from troubleshooting and analysis to solution, verification, and documentation
• Ability to work in a structured, methodical, and quality-conscious manner, even during operational disruptions and time pressure
• Good collaboration skills and ability to conduct constructive dialogues with operations, IT, technical specialists, and suppliers
• Ability to be attentive to the needs of the operations while safeguarding technical standards, security, and long-term management
