Senior Policy Officer Economics and Greenhouse Horticulture (interim)

Project overview

As a senior policy officer, you will make policy contributions to economics and greenhouse horticulture within the Flora Campus Westland program organization.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Identifying relevant societal developments and translating these into policy proposals and advice
• Advising management and executive board on policy-related issues
• Monitoring the coherence and integrity of policy and advice
• Identifying bottlenecks and developing possible solutions
• Providing input for municipal Finance & Control documents such as the framework note and budget
• Sharing knowledge and information within the team and department
• Informing portfolio holders and the executive board about proposals, advice, and projects
• Contributing to the realization of the greenhouse horticulture vision 'Hart voor Glas'
• Acting as a contractor for assignments within the Ecosystem program line
• Developing and monitoring a research agenda
• Supporting grant applications
• Ensuring alignment between the program organization and the internal municipal organization
• Advising on area development, including issues related to land allocation
• Demonstrable work experience as a policy officer in the past six years within the administrative decision-making process
• Experience in connecting internal and external stakeholders such as municipal departments, executive board, knowledge institutions, education, and entrepreneurs
• Minimum of three years of experience within programs or projects with multiple policy areas and partners
• Affinity with and/or knowledge of greenhouse horticulture
• Minimum of three years of experience in advising and writing administrative documents
• Experience as a policy officer with governance issues in a municipality in the past five years
• Experience within a municipally linked party
• Experience in developing or monitoring research agendas and supporting grant applications
• Bachelor's degree as a minimum educational requirement
• Results-oriented and connecting working style
• Ability to quickly understand the playing field around Flora Campus and the municipality of Westland
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of public administration, business administration, and organizational science
