Senior Power BI Frontend Developer

Project overview

For a demanding IT transformation project in the insurance environment, an experienced Senior Power BI Frontend Developer is sought.

The focus is on the modernization and harmonization of the existing application and reporting landscape. The goal is to build a centralized, scalable reporting architecture with standardized data models, interactive dashboards, and user-friendly analysis solutions.

• Conception and further development of a centralized reporting architecture and semantic model strategy
• Development of Power BI reports, dashboards, and analytical applications
• Building and optimizing semantic data models for reporting and analytics
• Integration of reporting solutions with Snowflake data models
• Development of reusable reporting templates and dashboard components
• Creation of operational reports and portfolio steering views for business units
• Conception of interactive visualizations and drill-down functionalities
• Translation of business requirements into technical reporting solutions
• Support in implementing role-based access and authorization concepts
• Close collaboration with Business Analysts, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders
• Support with testing, bug fixing, and User Acceptance Tests (UAT)
• Development of pilot solutions for selected business areas
• Several years of in-depth experience in development with Power BI
• Very good knowledge of Power BI Data Modelling and Semantic Models
• Experience in designing semantic data models with Snowflake
• Very good knowledge of Snowflake
• Experience in the conception of company-wide reporting and dashboard solutions
• Advanced SQL skills
• In-depth expertise in data visualization and dashboard design
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
• Experience in integrating different data sources into reporting solutions
• Experience in agile project environments
• Experience in the insurance sector, especially Underwriting and Portfolio Steering Reporting
• Experience in performance optimization of large Power BI datasets
• Knowledge in the area of Data Governance
• Project experience with insurance companies

• Utilization: 80 to 100% (4 to 5 days per week)
• Location: predominantly remote, 1 to 2 days per month on-site in Hanover
