Job description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Owner to bridge the gap between business and IT, focusing on confidential business, data protection, and anti-money laundering within the partner business domain.
Project overview
Senior Product Owner – Partner Business
Focus: Confidential Business, Data Protection, and Anti-Money Laundering
We are looking for an experienced personality at the interface between business and IT.
For a client request, we are looking for a Senior Product Owner who will drive the functional further development in the partner business and translate complex business and regulatory requirements into implementable IT solutions. The focus is on confidential business, the responsible handling of sensitive data, and the implementation of anti-money laundering requirements.
You combine in-depth business analysis with technological understanding, can bring together different interests, and take responsibility for clear priorities and viable business decisions.
Responsibilities
Take Product Ownership: Align product goals and functional priorities with relevant stakeholders, and build, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog based on business value, regulatory urgency, and dependencies.
Connect Business and IT: Act as the central functional interface between partner business, IT development, data protection, compliance, and anti-money laundering.
Requirements
Analyze business processes, moderate workshops, and translate functional and regulatory requirements into understandable business concepts, user stories, and verifiable acceptance criteria.
Consider Confidential Business: Define requirements for confidentiality, access and authorization concepts, and the processing of sensitive partner and business data together with the responsible departments.
Integrate Data Protection and Anti-Money Laundering into Implementation: Clarify functional requirements with responsible parties and ensure their consideration in processes, data flows, and system functions.
Accompany Implementation and Quality: Clarify questions from the development team, provide functional input for refinements and reviews, and support functional tests and acceptances based on agreed criteria.
Make Decisions Transparent: Address conflicting goals, risks, and dependencies early on, and document requirements and decisions comprehensibly.
The role is responsible for the functional product design and implementation; legal control and approval responsibilities remain with the respective functions.
What You Bring
Several years of experience as a Product Owner or as a Senior Business Analyst / Requirements Engineer with demonstrable responsibility for prioritization, stakeholder alignment, and functional implementation.
In-depth project experience in regulated organizations, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.
Experience in handling sensitive business and personal data, as well as in translating data protection and compliance requirements into functional and technical requirements.
Functional understanding of anti-money laundering and its impact on business processes and IT systems; specific project experience in this area is particularly relevant.
Solid skills in requirements analysis, process modeling, user story creation, and defining acceptance criteria.
Technical understanding of data flows, interfaces, and complex application landscapes – without assuming a developer role.
Routine in agile collaboration and in using Jira and Confluence or comparable tools.
Strong moderation and communication skills, confident interaction with various stakeholders, and very good German language skills.
Additionally Beneficial
Experience in partner business, business partner management, or comparable partner-related processes.
Practical experience with customer or partner identification, KYC checks, risk-based audit processes, or their system support.
Knowledge of authorization models, data protection through design, and auditable documentation.
PSPO/CSPO certification or comparable qualification, as well as knowledge of BPMN or UML.
