Senior Project Controls Manager CAPEX

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Controls Manager (m/f/d) for the independent management and controlling of complex CAPEX investment projects. The assignment begins in November 2026 and is planned for 6 months.

Your responsibilities include comprehensive control of costs, schedules, and progress, as well as early identification and assessment of deviations. You will establish and manage project-related risk and change management and assess impacts on project objectives. The coordination of all relevant project participants – from internal stakeholders and technical planners to external service providers – is among your core responsibilities.

You will provide technical leadership to external PMO and project controlling teams and, depending on the project, take on project management tasks. Furthermore, you will create service descriptions, support the selection and management of external partners, and assist with contract and claims management. Through robust assessments, you will ensure a transparent project status and compliance with project-specific requirements.

We expect at least 8 years of solid project experience in Project Controls and extensive practice in complex investment projects (Pharma, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Plant Engineering). Very good knowledge of cost control, schedule planning, risk management, and change management, as well as experience with EPC and IPD Execution Models, is required. You are proficient in relevant tools such as Oracle Primavera P6, MS Project, and SAP and have experience in managing external teams.

Ability for structured analysis of complex project interrelationships, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and fluent German and English are essential. Willingness to travel (approx. 30%) and project-related assignments at various locations is assumed.
