Are you a highly skilled Python Backend Engineer with a passion for AI and Generative AI technologies? We are seeking an experienced developer to play a key role in designing, developing, and scaling next-generation AI-powered applications within a modern cloud-native environment.

• Sheffield (Hybrid) ?? 12-Month Fixed Term Contract/Sub-Contract ?? £400 to £500 per day Day Rate/inside ir35
• Design, develop, and maintain robust Back End services and REST APIs using Python.
• Build scalable AI-powered applications leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Develop and optimise Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
• Integrate and work with leading LLM platforms including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Claude and Gemini.
• Implement vector database solutions and embedding frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software products.
• Drive best practices in software engineering, testing, deployment, and observability.
• Strong Python development experience
• Experience building Backend Services and REST APIs
• Hands-on experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Software design principles and design patterns
• Testing frameworks (PyTest), debugging, and Git source control
• AI Engineering & Generative AI
• Experience building AI-powered applications
