Seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA Planning Consultant for a transformation project focused on optimizing planning and inventory management processes by migrating from custom developments to standard SAP processes. The role involves workshop facilitation, process architecture, system setup, and quality assurance.
Project overview
For a renowned partner company, we are currently seeking external expertise for an ongoing transformation project with an end customer. As part of an S/4HANA implementation, the focus is on optimizing planning and inventory management processes. A central goal is the consistent reduction of historical, customer-specific Z-developments towards efficient SAP standard processes (Fit-to-Standard).

- Workshop Facilitation: Independent conception and execution of Fit-to-Standard and Design workshops with the business departments.
- Process Architecture: Analysis of existing planning and dispatching processes and development of S/4HANA target processes close to standard (reversion of Z-tables/transactions and interfaces).
- System Setup: Control and implementation of customizing and configuration of the relevant SAP processes.
- Quality Assurance: Active support of the team in testing, error analysis, and final implementation.
- Must-Have: Several years of in-depth consulting experience in SAP Planning & Inventory Management.
- Must-Have: Excellent process and customizing knowledge in SAP MRP (Material Requirements Planning) as well as replenishment and reordering processes.
- Must-Have: In-depth understanding of Planning Master Data (incl. material master and MRP settings) as well as Demand & Supply Planning (Forecasting, scheduling logic).
- Must-Have: Practical experience in Distribution Planning and Stock Transfers (consolidation, delivery creation).
- Must-Have: Proven success in replacing custom developments with SAP standard.
- Must-Have: High methodological competence for structured analysis of complex requirements.
- Must-Have: Languages: Very good German skills (mandatory for workshops) as well as good English skills for the project environment.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with Demand-Driven Replenishment (DDMRP) / Buffer Management.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge in Predictive MRP (pMRP).
- Nice-to-have: Exposure to SAP IBP.
Project details
01.11.2026 to 30.06.2027 (8 months)
Utilization: 40 person-days (PD) total. The scope suggests a model as a spot consultant / lead architect with phased deployment or a part-time focus.
