Senior Software Build Engineer / Build Specialist to join a greenhouse engineering team (6–8 people) in Amsterdam on contract. The role owns build system design and implementation, prepares and executes technical work packages, and is accountable for build quality and planning. Must have strong Bazel development experience (rules/macros/platforms/toolchains, RBE, caching, hermetic builds) plus hands-on Go and Python, modern software engineering practices (algorithms, TDD/BDD), CI/CD release automation (e.g., GitHub Actions), and strong SCM/Git knowledge (GitHub, ClearCase).
Requirements
- 8+ years software development and build management
- Bazel development experience (mandatory)
- Bazel concepts: rules, macros, platforms, RBE (remote build execution), caching, toolchains, hermetic builds
- Go programming
- Python programming
- Modern software design/development fundamentals (basic algorithms, TDD/BDD)
- Automated integration and release processes (CI/CD) and tools (e.g., GitHub Actions)
- SCM systems and Git (GitHub, ClearCase)
