For an exciting customer project in the public sector, we are currently looking for an experienced freelancer as a Senior Software Developer Java:

Key Data:

• Position: Senior Software Developer Java
• Contract Type: Freelance
• Start: Mid-December 2026
• Duration: 12 months with option for extension (up to 3 x 12 months)
• Utilization: 100 PT in the first year (minimum 8 PT per month by arrangement)
• Location: Approx. 80% Remote / 20% Onsite in Munich
• Project Language: German (minimum C1)
• Special Features: Security clearance (Ü1) required (carried out by the client)

Responsibilities

• Analysis and technical evaluation of business requirements based on tickets (JIRA)
• Conception and implementation of technical solutions within an existing system architecture
• Development and expansion of a Java-based business application
• Further development of existing software components
• Conception, development, and expansion of unit tests
• Analysis, adaptation, and further development of existing interfaces
• Implementation and expansion of SOAP and REST web services
• Error analysis, bug fixing, and execution of technical tests
• Creation of technical documentation
• Independent ticket processing in the sprint team and close coordination with project management and development team

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Java software development
• Experience in at least one major project (with a total effort of at least 5 development years (project end within the last 5 years))
• Minimum 2 years of practical experience with:
• Java
• Eclipse or IntelliJ
• JSF / PrimeFaces
• JUnit
• Hibernate & JPA
• MS SQL Server
• Maven
• SOAP and REST web services
• Minimum 2 years of project experience in the public sector
• Experience in project teams of at least 3 people
• Very good German language skills (minimum C1)
• High sense of responsibility, strong communication skills, and structured way of working
• Your relevant experience in this area
• Earliest possible start date
• Your hourly rates for remote and onsite
