Senior Software Engineer, Go

Project overview

Our client is a fast-growing data streaming platform that’s becoming the data layer for AI agents running in production.

You’ll own the client’s cloud billing and payments systems end to end, as part of a new team in Warsaw. That covers usage-based billing (built on Metronome) and credit card payments (built on Stripe). You’ll start by learning and stabilizing the current setup, then drive the roadmap so metering, invoicing, and payments stay accurate and reliable as new products launch. You’ll work closely with finance, product, and the wider engineering team.

• Own the design, build, operation, and evolution of the usage-based billing and payment systems
• Build correctness-critical metering, billing, and payment workflows with strong idempotency, reconciliation, and auditability
• Take over existing systems from other teams, learn them in depth, and move them forward
• Turn product and commercial requirements into clear technical designs and shipped work
• Partner with finance and customer success on invoicing accuracy and revenue correctness, and with product and engineering on the roadmap
• Maintain high standards for security and the privacy of personal data
• Join the on-call rotation once you’re up to speed
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and a track record of owning and reliably delivering features and components
• Experience building, running, and supporting large-scale distributed systems
• Backend proficiency in Go (or a comparable systems language, plus willingness to learn Go)
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Comfortable maintaining customer-facing web UIs (React/TypeScript or similar), with support from designers and AI tools
• Production experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex)
• Clear written and spoken English, and comfort working async with a globally distributed team
