Senior Spatial Economist (interim)

Project overview

The senior spatial economist advises on spatial developments and area development projects within the municipality.

Profile of the suited interim professional:

• Advising on and processing ongoing and to be established land development projects
• Preparing, testing, and updating financial feasibility analyses of area developments
• Handling cost recovery for private initiatives
• Advising on subsidies related to spatial developments
• Advising on land prices for purchase, sale, lease, or other forms of issuance
• Managing and advising on project risks
• Advising on cost recovery for area-wide facilities
• Preparing financial reports on projects and contributing to the planning and control cycle
• Updating policy documents such as the Land Policy Memorandum, Cost Recovery Memorandum, and Land Prices Memorandum
• Participating in project groups and contract negotiations regarding land acquisition and sale, and cooperation agreements
• Acting as a substantive sparring partner for project leaders, program managers, and the executive board
• Supporting and coaching colleagues with less experience
• Completed HBO bachelor's degree in spatial planning, spatial development, real estate, economics, public administration, or similar
• Experience as a spatial economist within a municipal organization
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the role of spatial economist
• Knowledge of and experience with compiling and managing land development projects
• Experience with area development and cost recovery
