Project overview

Project / Role: For our public client, we are looking for an SQL Developer / Data Migration Engineer (PostgreSQL / MS SQL Server) for the further development of data migration services within a modern software engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimization, and scaling of complex data migration routes
• Analysis of complex data structures and dependencies
• Development of intelligent mapping logics and automated data cleansing strategies
• Creation and optimization of sophisticated SQL queries
• Development of automated tests to ensure data integrity and quality
• Preparation of migration and test data as well as monitoring of processing
• Analysis of errors and data anomalies as well as joint development of suitable solutions within the team
• Continuous further development of development processes, tools, and best practices
• Close collaboration within an agile software engineering team

Role: SQL Developer (m/f/d)

• Completed higher education in computer science or comparable qualification (FH/Uni) as well as relevant professional experience
• Several years (min. 5 years) of practical experience in SQL development and optimization
• Confident handling of PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server (ideally with both technologies)
• Demonstrable experience in data modeling and database architecture (conceptual and technical)
• Experience with data migrations and/or ETL projects in complex data environments
• Routine in handling complex, heterogeneous, or legacy databases
• Structured and analytical working method as well as high sensitivity to data quality, consistency, and performance
• Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical issues understandably
• Advantageous: Experience with Python for data processing, scripting, or automation
• German – Very good knowledge (at least C1)
• English – Fluent in spoken and written
