Project overview

Conception, implementation, review, and optimization of complex T-SQL solutions, especially stored procedures, triggers, set-based processing, temporary tables, and robust error handling.

SQL Server does not maintain column statistics for TVPs; version, compatibility level, and execution context must be considered.

• Analyze actual execution plans and optimize queries, indexes, and plan stability; document baseline and comparison measurements for runtime, CPU, logical reads/writes, resource consumption, and concurrency.
• Investigate TVPs: Analyze row count estimates with highly variable input volumes and the effects of compilation and plan reuse.
• Analyze concurrent access to hierarchical subtrees, especially page locks, resource consumption, and cardinality estimates; reduce locking, blocking, deadlocks, and lock escalation.
• Design high-performance and secure large insert, update, and delete operations, as well as related data and insert/delete pipelines with foreign keys and cascade rules – including batch, transaction, restart, and rollback strategies.
• Optimize hierarchical data and high-volume audit and change collectors, and adapt associated OLE DB connections in C++ together with the developers of the calling components.
• Secure changes through tests, code reviews, CI/CD checks, and traceable before/after comparisons; document deployment and rollback strategies, technical decisions, and work tasks, and transfer knowledge to the internal team.
