Senior Test Automation Engineer

Project overview

For an established company in the healthcare software sector (B2B, mid-sized to corporate segment), we are looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer / QA Automation Lead who will be responsible for end-to-end test strategies and sustainably expand scalable test automation across C++ desktop, .NET, and web.

• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 6 months (option to extend)
• Remote/On-Site: Hybrid (approx. 70% remote / 30% on-site, by arrangement)
• Utilization: 4–5 days/week (80–100%)
• Design and ownership of a comprehensive, multi-layered test strategy (unit, integration, system, UI, stress, performance) including measurable quality goals
• Build and further develop robust test harnesses and CI pipelines that detect regressions early and deliver fast, reliable feedback cycles
• Test automation across heterogeneous landscapes: C++ desktop, .NET, and web components – including test data and environment management
• Conception, execution, and evaluation of stress and performance tests; identification of bottlenecks, leaks, and stability risks, including concrete improvement measures
• Establishment of "shift-left"/TDD-like QA practices together with Engineering (testability, Definition of Done, Quality Gates)
• Close collaboration with Development, Architecture, QA, and Product Management to prioritize quality-critical risks and ensure release readiness
• Standardization and scaling of test tooling, reporting, and flake reduction (stabilization of unstable tests, root cause analysis, sustainable fixes)
• Use of AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) for generating, maintaining, and triaging tests, as well as for building reusable QA workflows, skills, and prompt templates for the team
• Must-have: Several years of experience in Senior Test Automation with a solid understanding of multi-layered test architectures (pyramid, contract tests, E2E strategies)
• Must-have: Sound practical experience in stress and performance testing (load profiles, metrics, bottleneck analysis, stability assessments)
• Must-have: Very good programming skills in at least one language: C#, Java, Python, or TypeScript
• Must-have: Hands-on experience with CI/CD (e.g., GitLab CI or similar), version control (Git), and modern test tools (e.g., Ranorex, Playwright, Cypress)
• Must-have: Strong problem-solving orientation, analytical approach, and "quality-first" mindset (root cause instead of workarounds)
• Desirable: Good C# skills and abilities in penetration testing / security testing
• Desirable: ISTQB or comparable certification
• Desirable: Experience with agent-based tools (e.g., Claude Code), building agents/skills/workflows, "context engineering"
• Desirable: Experience in regulated environments (healthcare, MedTech) and understanding of compliance and documentation requirements
