Project overview

For upcoming modernization projects with mid-sized companies in the DACH region, we are looking for experienced UX/UI Designers (m/f/d) to join our expert pool. The work is 100% remote, and we welcome applications from anywhere in the world.

A typical project looks like this:

Starting point

An established business application is being modernized and migrated to Google Cloud. It includes an Angular web portal for customers and case workers and a Flutter mobile app for iOS and Android. The user interfaces have grown over the years, are inconsistent and not accessible. The goal is a shared design system for portal and app, efficient workflows for case workers with high volumes, clear flows for customers who use the product rarely, and accessibility according to WCAG 2.1 AA.

Responsibilities

• Understand users and workflows: interviews and observation with case workers and customers, analysis of the legacy application, journey maps
• Create information architecture, wireframes and clickable prototypes in Figma and align them with business stakeholders and the business analyst
• Build the design system for portal (Angular Material) and app (Flutter): components, tokens, states, documentation
• Plan and verify accessibility according to WCAG 2.1 AA from the start (contrast, keyboard operation, screen readers)
• Design forms, tables and bulk editing efficiently for case workers
• Plan and run usability tests and feed the results back into the designs
• Hand over designs ready for development (specifications, responsive behavior, microcopy) and review the implementation
• Document design decisions and present them to decision-making bodies

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a UX/UI designer for business applications, including at least 3 years with web and mobile in products used in production
• Solid command of Figma (components, variables, prototyping) and building or maintaining a design system
• Proven practice in accessibility according to WCAG 2.1 and in usability testing
• Experience working with Angular or Flutter developers on design handover
• Fluent English
• At least 4 hours of daily overlap with Central European Time (CET)
