Project overview

For our end client, the Police, Harvey Nash is looking for a Senior VMware Specialist.

Expected start date: 07-01-2027 (start possible after successful completion of screening)

Responsibilities

Operation;

Monitoring of systems and performing health checks, analyses, and improvements.

Coordination of incidents, problem and performance analyses, and implementing solutions.

Developing and executing standard/custom changes, based on capacity, lifecycle, or hardening issues, performed according to ITIL.

You will be one of the leading engineers implementing VCF 9.

Participating in the on-call duty roster.

Development;

As a team member, participate in larger projects of LCM (Lifecycle Management), capacity expansion, and/or renewal, from roadmap to delivery. You will be responsible for parts of the design.

You will create and improve infrastructure reporting.

Propose, develop, and implement general improvements;

Identify and manage security and risks;

Where will you work?

We are reserving a spot for you at our office in Driebergen. You will be part of the hosting team and manage the base platforms and associated infrastructure in consultation with technical application management and the product lines. This is the virtualization team, consisting of administrators and developers. It is an enthusiastic group of people with a good team atmosphere.

You will report to the personnel coordinator and work closely with the product owner and the scrum master.

Furthermore, you possess:

A HBO diploma; this is a hard requirement at this level.

Certification in VMware, preferably VCF9, or you can demonstrate this through concrete work experience.

You enjoy being a central point of contact, monitoring systems, arranging support, and coordinating.

Several years of relevant work experience, preferably in a large organization.

Experience within an infrastructure environment, knowledge of virtualization.

Working in an Agile Scrum team appeals to you.

Conditions

We work at least 1 day a week at the Driebergen location (currently Monday). During onboarding, this will be more frequent. Part of this role is participating in the on-call duty roster, which will be approximately once every six weeks and will only start once the candidate has sufficient experience to do so independently. Working hours are flexible if desired, within a block of 07:00 to 18:00, excluding on-call duty.

Regarding phone and laptop, contact with the work environment must be made via Citrix.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer Virtualization

Do you want to be part of our Virtualization platform team? Together with your colleagues, promote the vision of our product line, brainstorm with DevOps teams, and ensure reliable backups are always available. We have space for a new colleague within the Virtualization team at our location in Driebergen.

What will you do?

Together with your colleagues from Infrastructure, you will manage the equipment and systems on which the Apps/Data used by thousands of police officers during their work are located. In our data center, we work with Enterprise systems from various major brands such as: VMware, HPe, Dell/EMC, NetApp, and Commvault. We work in three Agile teams: a storage team, a back-up & restore team, and a virtualization team, but we form one department. Input into the Scrum/Agile process is expected from you.

We are looking for an experienced VMware specialist who wants to help develop, build, and migrate a new Virtualization Platform.

You will contribute ideas on how we handle dynamic computing capacity, streaming data from thousands of cameras and millions of photos, or how we maintain a high security level. You can say that you contribute behind the scenes to good police work.
