Service Owner - IT Operations - £750 per day - Inside IR35

6-month contract
Location - Hybrid (London or Manchester)
The role:
An opportunity for an experienced Service Owner to help establish a new IT Operations function serving government and the wider public sector.
Working alongside senior technical leaders, you'll shape the long-term strategy, standards and future direction of IT Operations across government, including assessing operational maturity and exploring how emerging technologies such as agentic AI could change the landscape.

- Significant experience in IT Operations, software development or a closely related technical specialism, ideally within government.
- Experience shaping technical strategy, standards and best practice across complex organisations.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage services and budgets, and drive continuous operational improvement.
- Experience developing business cases, securing funding and working with technology suppliers.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and build consensus across government.
