Job description
Seeking a ServiceNow Tester with AI Control Tower experience for a freelance project starting in November 2026. The project has a 12-month duration with extension options and is primarily remote with occasional on-site work in Vienna.
Project overview
For one of our clients, we are looking for a ServiceNow Tester with AI Control Tower experience.
This is a freelance project that starts in November 2026 and has a duration of 12 months, with an option for extension.
The assignment is predominantly remote, with the exception of occasional on-site assignments in Vienna.
Responsibilities
- Creation of test strategy, test concept, and test plans for the introduction of the AI Control Tower
- Derivation of test cases from requirements and user stories (functional, integration, regression, roles/permissions)
- Testing of governance, approval, and compliance workflows, including risk assessment and escalation paths
- Validation of the AI inventory and discovery results (completeness and correctness of the captured AI assets)
- Testing of integrations to external AI platforms and APIs (REST API tests, error scenarios, data flows)
- Setup and maintenance of automated tests with the Automated Test Framework (ATF), including test suites for regression and upgrades
- Verification of dashboards, reports, and key figures for functional and calculation correctness
- Testing AI-specific aspects: Guardrails, access restrictions, behavior of AI agents, quality and security assessments

- Completed education in the IT field (University, FH, HTL)
- ServiceNow Platform: Several years of testing experience in ServiceNow projects (min. 3 years)
- Test Automation: Very good knowledge of the Automated Test Framework (ATF): Tests, Test Suites, Parameters, Custom Steps
- Test Methodology: Sound knowledge of test methods (functional, regression, integration, UAT, upgrade tests)
- API Tests: Testing of REST APIs (e.g., Postman, REST API Explorer)
- Workflows: Understanding of Flow Designer, approval processes, and role/permission concepts in ServiceNow
- AI Fundamentals: Understanding of AI/LLMs and AI agents as well as their testability (non-deterministic behavior, guardrails)
- AI Control Tower: Experience with AI Control Tower, Now Assist, or AI Agent Studio
- AI Governance: Basic knowledge of AI governance and regulations (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF)
- GRC / CMDB: Experience with tests in GRC/IRM or CMDB environments
- Other Tools: Experience with supplementary testing tools (e.g., Tricentis Tosca, AutomatePro, Playwright, Selenium)
- Scripting: Basic JavaScript knowledge for ATF server steps and test data
- Test Management: Experience with test management and defect tools (Jira/Xray, ServiceNow Test Management)
- Methodology: Agile working (Scrum / SAFe)
- Very good German language skills (min. C1)
- ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level
- CSA – Certified System Administrator
- ISTQB Test Automation Engineer or ISTQB AI Testing (CT-AI)
- AI Micro-Certifications (Now Assist, Agentic AI)
