Context and Challenges

As part of a strategic information system optimization program, a major player in the banking sector is looking for an SI Project Manager / Power BI Expert to work on a credit risk calculation engine, particularly Risk-Weighted Assets (RWA).

The mission takes place in a demanding banking environment, characterized by performance constraints, control of cloud resources, and compliance with group architecture standards.

The main challenge is to rethink and optimize the existing Power BI architecture to reduce resource consumption on a shared cloud infrastructure, while ensuring the availability, performance, and integration of data necessary for credit risk analysis.

Particular attention will be paid to evaluating different Power BI connection and storage modes: Import, DirectQuery, and hybrid architectures, especially by combining aggregated data in Import mode and granular data in DirectQuery mode.

• Audit and Optimization of Power BI Architecture
• Analyze the existing Power BI architecture and identify issues with performance and cloud resource consumption.
• Study, compare, and challenge architectural solutions based on Import, DirectQuery, and hybrid modes.
• Evaluate the advantages and constraints of each approach in terms of performance, data volume, and resource consumption.
• Define an optimized target architecture combining aggregated data in Import mode and granular data in DirectQuery mode.
• Support technical teams in implementing the chosen architecture.
• Ensure the compliance of solutions with group requirements and standards.

• Manage the evolution of the Power BI architecture in coordination with technical and business teams.
• Act as the interface between the various project stakeholders.

• Manage activities according to the Agile Scrum methodology.
