Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Snowflake Data Modeler/Lead Engineer with strong hands-on experience in enterprise data modelling and critically, the practical implementation of Snowflake AI capabilities in real-world environments.

The successful candidate must be able to design and build robust data models while leveraging Snowflake AI features to develop, manage, modify and extend semantic models as business requirements evolve.

The client is particularly focused on experience across Snowflake Cortex AI, Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Agentic Development and Semantic Modelling. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they have implemented these capabilities in live projects, rather than simply having theoretical knowledge or general exposure to AI.

The role will involve working closely with Finance and data stakeholders to deliver governed, AI-ready data models supporting Revenue, Spend, General Ledger (GL) and other financial reporting requirements.

Mandatory Technical Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate practical, hands-on experience in the following areas:

Finance and Business Domain

Experience working with Finance or regulated-industry data is highly desirable, particularly:

  • Snowflake Cortex AI: Experience implementing Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities in real-world business scenarios.
  • Cortex Analyst: Hands-on experience implementing or configuring Cortex Analyst for natural-language analytics and querying structured business data.
  • Cortex Search: Practical experience implementing Cortex Search for enterprise search and retrieval use cases.
  • Agentic Development: Experience developing or integrating AI agents with enterprise data platforms, semantic models, APIs or governed tools.
  • Semantic Modelling: Proven ability to design, build, manage and maintain Snowflake semantic models, including entities, relationships, metrics and reusable business definitions.
  • AI-driven semantic model development: Experience using Snowflake AI features and tools to create, refine, modify and extend semantic models in response to changing business requirements.
  • Snowflake Engineering: Strong hands-on Snowflake experience, advanced SQL, data transformations, dynamic tables, views and performance optimisation.
  • Enterprise Data Modelling: Experience designing logical, physical and dimensional models, including facts, dimensions, aggregates and hierarchies.
  • Data Quality and Governance: Experience with data validation, reconciliation, metadata, lineage, access controls, security and auditability.
  • General Ledger (GL) and financial reporting.
  • Profit and Loss (P&L) measures.
  • Revenue and Spend reporting.
  • Finance measures, reconciliations and drill-down analysis.
  • Source-to-target mapping, ETL/ELT pipelines and transformation logic.
  • Start: flexible
  • Location: United Kingdom, GB
  • Rate: 73-73 EUR/h
