Software Developer – Java, DB2 and Application Support

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced freelance software developer with in-depth knowledge of Java, IBM DB2, and the support of complex application landscapes.

Task Description:

• Acceptance, analysis, and processing of incidents in the incident and problem management system MAXIMO
• Technical error analysis and sustainable error resolution in productive and other system environments
• Development and implementation of technical solution concepts
• Review and evaluation of functional requirements regarding completeness, feasibility, and technical compatibility
• Further development and adaptation of existing software applications within the framework of the given release and change management
• Software development and database design with IBM DB2
• Creation and maintenance of test data, test cases, and unit tests
• Execution and documentation of developer tests
• Creation and updating of technical documentation, installation, and operating instructions
• Support with installation, configuration, deployment, and provision of applications on decentralized systems
• Documentation of error causes, solutions, and measures taken in MAXIMO

Requirements

Training/Certificates:

Agile Software Development/Scrum: Certificate of successfully completed Scrum Master training or a comparable qualification

IT Service Management: ITIL Foundation Certificate, at least version V3 or higher

Containerization: Training certificate of existing basic knowledge in the containerization of software applications

SAP Integration Application Model: Training certificate of basic knowledge in the creation of data models and the development of APIs and services

The required certificates and training confirmations are binding and must be submitted as part of the profile template upon profile release.

The minimum required years of professional experience must be proven by meaningful project references.

Security Check: Willingness to undergo a required security check is mandatory.

Languages:

Good to very good German skills in speaking and writing, at least level C1 according to GER

• At least 5 years of experience in software development and database design with IBM DB2
• At least 3 years of experience with Java, JavaScript, Vaadin, Spring, Maven, JasperReports, Talend, Apache Tomcat, Git, GitLab, as well as the architecture patterns MVP and DAO
• At least 5 years of experience in the installation, configuration, and deployment of software applications on decentralized systems
• At least 5 years of experience in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, guidelines, and work and action instructions
• At least 2 years of experience with the V-model XT process model
• Experience with Windows and Linux, especially deployment, log file analysis, error research, software transport, configuration, and administration of development tools
• At least 2 years of experience in software development in the public sector environment
