Telenor Norway is seeking an experienced Java developer with strong expertise in agentic AI for a new consultant role within the IT division. The position requires an active security clearance at the CONFIDENTIAL level.
Project overview
To the IT division at Telenor Norway, we are seeking an experienced Java developer with strong expertise in agentic AI.
This is a new consultant role being created due to an internal role change. The role is currently not staffed.
The resource will work in systems that process classified information. It is therefore a requirement that the candidate has a valid security clearance at the CONFIDENTIAL level upon commencement.
Assignment Description and Tasks
Telenor Norway AS is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for the development of backend services in Team Octo. The team has full ownership of its code and is therefore also responsible for the maintenance, modernization, and further development of existing services.
You will contribute to the design, development, testing, securing, exposure, and maintenance of software in line with DevOps principles. As a Software Engineer, you are expected to master relevant programming languages, frameworks, platforms, and architectures to develop everything from microservices to complex system landscapes.

- Designing, implementing, testing, and exposing backend services using Java with Spring Boot.
- Documenting services and code.
- Collaborating closely with business owners and teams on requirements specifications and technical solutions.
- Contributing to the introduction of new software libraries and efficient reuse of existing resources.
- Participating in testing and quality assurance of both own and others' code.
- Identifying and proposing improvements in existing solutions and development processes.
- Contributing to the further development and adherence to guidelines, best practices, and standards for software development.
