Software Developer Robotics - Multi-Robot Coordination & Motion Planning

Project overview

For an innovative development project in the field of autonomous, mobile robot systems, we are looking for an experienced software developer.

You will contribute to the development of a solution where multiple autonomous robots interact efficiently and collision-free within a shared workspace.

Your tasks include the development and optimization of algorithms for coordinating multiple autonomous robots, as well as the implementation of solutions for multi-agent path planning and collision-free motion planning.

You will develop and optimize motion planning algorithms for dynamic environments, taking into account dynamic obstacles and short-term environmental changes.

A focus is on scalability and real-time capability with an increasing number of robots.

Software development is primarily done in C++.

You will analyze existing algorithms, further develop the software architecture, and conduct tests and validations – partly directly on real robot systems.

Furthermore, you will support knowledge transfer through mentoring and technical guidance of the development teams.

We expect several years of experience in software development in the field of robotics or autonomous systems.

You have very good C++ skills and practical experience in multi-robot coordination or multi-agent path planning.

Sound knowledge in motion planning and collision avoidance is required.

Experience with mathematical optimization methods, real-time algorithms, and their performance optimization complete your profile.

A independent, systematic approach to complex technical problems, as well as communication skills and enjoyment of knowledge transfer, are important.

Good German or English skills, both written and spoken, are required.
