Solaris and Linux Infrastructure Administrator

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced system administrator for the operation and migration of Solaris and Linux infrastructures at our location in Bavaria. The project runs for 7 months and offers flexible hybrid working with planned on-site deployments.

Your tasks include the administration, maintenance, and monitoring of Solaris and Linux server systems. You will analyze and resolve operating system, CPU, and hardware problems, perform regular maintenance work, and take care of replacing defective components. In addition, you will implement network changes, including IP configurations, and document all changes and troubleshooting steps performed.

A focus will be on migrating a build server from Solaris to Linux and emulating existing SPARC environments.

We expect several years of experience in the administration of Solaris systems and sound knowledge in Linux server administration. You should be familiar with SPARC-based hardware and hardware-related operating system dependencies. Knowledge of server hardware, disk management, and storage connections is required. Experience with network administration, especially IP configurations, as well as build chains and server migrations, will complete your profile.

Requirements include very good German language skills and the willingness to participate in plannable on-site deployments. Ideally, you have experience with relevant administration tools and version control systems.
