Assignment Description

We are looking for a Solution Architect at level 5, which is normally achieved after at least 10 years of work experience.

The Swedish Tax Agency's Network Section needs to strengthen its existing expertise in datacenter networks and is therefore seeking a Solution Architect with specialist expertise in F5 BIG-IP. The consultant will complement existing resources and contribute to ensuring a robust, secure, and long-term sustainable delivery of the BIG-IP platform.

In this role, the consultant is responsible for the architecture, technical design, and further development of the Swedish Tax Agency's BIG-IP environment. The work includes strategic and architectural issues as well as operational technical work within BIG-IP and its integrated modules.

The consultant shall analyze needs and requirements, develop and further develop solution architecture, and translate these into technical solutions. The assignment includes making and documenting technical choices and ensuring that the solutions are scalable, secure, robust, manageable, and automatable.

The role involves close collaboration with network specialists and other technical competencies in areas such as infrastructure, security, applications, and monitoring. The consultant is expected to contribute specialist expertise in complex problem-solving and act as technical support and advisor within F5 BIG-IP.

Work tasks also include development, automation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and incident management of F5 BIG-IP in the Swedish Tax Agency's datacenter network. The consultant is expected to actively contribute to the standardization and automation of the platform to reduce manual steps and create efficient and reproducible management of the environment.

The role also includes participation in on-call duty every fourth week according to schedule.

Information about interviews

If a candidate is presented to the client, the candidate must be available for an interview within seven (7) working days from the candidate receiving a summons from Upgraded.

Security vetting

The Swedish Tax Agency is covered by the Security Protection Act, which means the assignment may be placed in a security class. This includes requirements for security vetting of the consultant and that a subcontractor must enter into a security protection agreement.

Before the security protection agreement can be concluded, the Swedish Tax Agency is obliged to conduct a suitability assessment of the subcontractor in accordance with the Security Protection Act (2018:585) Chapter 4, Sections 7-8.

The scope of the security vetting will be communicated at a later stage of the selection process. The process for establishing a security protection agreement and conducting security vetting and any background checks typically takes 8-12 weeks from the assignment award, but can take longer or shorter. If the assignment is placed in a security class, the assignment cannot commence before this process has been completed and a start date has been communicated by the client.

Requirements

Normally achieved after 9-12 years of work in the relevant role.

A level 4 consultant corresponds to being at essentially the highest level in terms of knowledge and experience, etc. Working in a certain role or competence area for more than 12 years does not automatically mean a consultant achieves level 5.

Knowledge: high generalist competence, or very high competence in the relevant area, role, software, language.

Experience: has participated in large assignments in the relevant area and completed assignments with very high quality. Is a role model for other consultants at lower levels.

Leadership: takes main responsibility for leading a larger group, software, or language.

Independence: very high.

Personal qualities:

• Consultant must achieve at least competence level 4 according to the framework agreement:
• At least 10 years of current and relevant work experience with F5 BIG-IP in large and business-critical IT environments.
• At least 10 years of current and relevant work experience in architecture and technical design of large F5 BIG-IP environments.
• Hold BIG-IP Security Solutions (401) certification from F5 BIG-IP.
• Work experience in management, further development, and troubleshooting of large F5 environments based on F5 VELOS and F5 BIG-IP, covering all of the following modules/functions: LTM, ASM, APM, DNS, and SWG.
• Work experience in automation of large BIG-IP environments.
• Work experience in automation with Ansible.
• Experience working in a government agency with 10,000 employees.
• Experience with Splunk.
• Cooperation skills, helpfulness, and good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn new things, openness to change.
• Be goal-oriented and contribute to achieving the business purpose.
• Act consciously in everyday life based on good self-awareness.
• Analytical.
