Job description

Seeking a Solution Architect to collaborate with project managers, teams, and stakeholders on an information transition program. The role requires strong communication, independence, and experience in large program teams, focusing on the quality and coherence of IT solutions.

Project overview

You will work closely with the realization project manager (also program architecture director), the involved project teams, product owners, the architecture board, and the relevant parts of the standing organization as a solution architect. You are therefore accountable for the quality of the solution.

You communicate strongly, work independently, and have experience in large program teams. The specializations are guiding. You work with other solution architects and jointly bear responsibility for a coherent architecture.

This request concerns a current position that is currently filled by external employees. It is possible that these employees will also be offered as candidates through this procedure. These candidates will be assessed equally.

Information Transition Program

Since 2023, PZH has been working on the Information Transition, a large-scale change program with a significant ICT component that affects all 2200 employees, managers, and directors of PZH. The Information Transition program has three main focus areas:

What is the assignment about?

By achieving these goals, the Information Transition lays the substantive foundation for digital transformation in PZH's tasks and organizational units. Convince by gaining support from a vision, developing a clear strategy, and translating it into execution. Significant involvement from the internal organization is necessary, as the mentioned focus areas will require structural attention and effort even after the program concludes.

The Information Transition program operates under architecture. A target and program architecture have been developed. Over the past year, work has been done on various project start architectures and solution architectures for the realization or reorganization of resources. The architecture focuses on various interconnected components:

  • Has at least a completed HBO or degree in ICT, Computer Sciences, Software Development, Business Informatics, or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrable experience as an architect within complex ICT landscapes.
  • Has demonstrable work experience in independently creating project start architectures and/or solution architectures.
  • Has at least one (1) year of demonstrable work experience with integration architecture and designing connections between systems where data exchange took place based on APIs and service buses.
  • Has demonstrable work experience in organizing architecture decision-making and creating support among organizational and technical stakeholders for the establishment and application of architectures.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of demonstrable work experience as a (solution) architect in a public organization comparable in size, complexity, and administrative context to PZH.
  • Degree of demonstrable experience in the last 15 years as an architect within complex ICT landscapes
  • Degree of demonstrable work experience in the past 15 years with integration architecture and data exchange between applications, including API connections and service buses
  • Degree of demonstrable work experience in the past 15 years with guiding architecture decision-making and creating support for architectures among administrative, organizational, and technical stakeholders
  • Degree of demonstrable experience in the last 10 years with designing and monitoring the coherence between applications, data flows, and information management within complex application chains.
  • Sustainable Accessibility ('getting things in order'). Sustainably organizing information management and all related ICT resources and processes. Cleaning up and improving the quality of data and information is also part of the scope.
  • I-governance & I-control ('keeping things in order'). PZH wants to steer the data and information domain. The program develops an 'elegant' control and management model (without unnecessary bureaucracy), with necessary processes, forums, and roles. Creating support within the PZH organization for this topic at all levels is crucial for the success of this transition. The lack of governance has led to the dilution of previous initiatives in terms of basic order and cleanup. Doing nothing is not an option.
  • Data-Driven Working ('using what is in order'). With the organization, we are taking the next step in maturity in the use of data and information: a uniformly functioning PZH organization. PZH currently has various initiatives in the area of data-driven working. The Information Transition develops the fundamental basic conditions (in the areas of people, technology, processes, organization, and data) to structurally implement and safeguard data-driven working.
  • The digital work environment: Microsoft 365 forms the platform for digital collaboration. The architecture describes how this environment interacts with the document management system (DMS/RMA), which serves as the central archive and legacy platform, the workflow functionality, and solutions for collaboration with external parties.
  • Document and Information Management: the DMS/RMA for the central archive and legacy system plays a central role in the sustainable preservation of information, the management of archive and legacy data, and supporting the information lifecycle. Integration with M365 and other applications is essential to manage information in the right place and under the right conditions.
  • Integration and Data Exchange: the integration architecture guides how applications exchange information, including via the service bus. Agreements on data structures, metadata, and authorizations must ensure that information can be reliably and controllably transferred between systems.
  • Process Management and Central Search: the process catalog (I-Navigator) helps to unambiguously record processes and link them to associated information and retention periods. Additionally, the architecture for central search is being developed, making information from various connected sources searchable.
  • Integrated Data Platform and Data Catalog: both elements together form a unit that creates the basis for data-driven work. Sustainable accessibility is part of the architecture.
