SC Eligible | BPSS to start
We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to support a major legacy-to-cloud migration programme for a Central Government client.
This is a hands-on migration architecture role, focused on moving complex live services safely into AWS and managed hosting environments. You'll work across applications, infrastructure, databases, middleware, networks and integrations, taking services from discovery through migration, testing, cutover and early-life support.
What you'll be doing
Essential experience
Technology exposure
Broad experience across legacy enterprise estates, including technologies such as:
Java | .NET | Oracle | WebLogic | IIS | Windows | Linux | AIX | Solaris | COBOL | GEN | Mainframe | AWS
You don't need to be a deep specialist across every technology, but you must be comfortable navigating mixed legacy stacks, complex dependencies and large-scale migration environments.
Interested? Apply now for further details.
- Own the end-to-end technical migration approach for assigned services.
- Turn discovery outputs and established migration patterns into executable technical plans.
- Lead migrations into AWS and managed hosting environments.
- Manage complex upstream/downstream dependencies, integrations and connectivity.
- Coordinate network routes, firewalls, DNS, access, identity and security.
- Provide technical leadership through migration rehearsals, testing, cutover, rollback and early-life support.
- Maintain service continuity while working across complex legacy estates.
- Strong background as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect or Migration Architect delivering large-scale hosting/cloud migrations.
- Proven experience migrating live services, not just designing greenfield or future-state solutions.
- Strong technical knowledge across applications, infrastructure, databases, middleware, networking and service integration.
- Experience with AWS, managed hosting, rehosting/relocation and VM-led migrations.
- Strong understanding of operational readiness, security, resilience, monitoring, testing and rollback.
- Experience working across complex multi-supplier environments and architectural governance.
