Project overview

We are looking for a Specialist Edge Networking & OT-Cybersecurity (m/f/d) for our client.

Project goal: The goal is to design, validate and secure a robust industrial edge network architecture, from the pilot phase through to the customer environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and validate industrial network architectures (routing, segmentation, VPN/IPsec, firewalls, DNS, Layer 2).
• Develop redundancy and failover concepts, as well as subnet and IP management.
• Prepare implementation guidelines for development, lab, QA, pilot and customer environments.
• Carry out threat and risk assessments and security gap analyses.
• Project-specific coordination of penetration tests, including evaluation and remediation recommendations.
• Design security hardening as well as IAM (MFA, RADIUS, SSO) and PKI for edge devices.
• Draft concepts for edge device enrollment, remote access, backup, patching and logging.
• Analyze and resolve connectivity issues in pilot deployments.
• Create architecture and operations documentation and transfer knowledge to the project team.

Requirements

Project language: English and German (German an advantage)

Remote share: up to 100 % (location: Bavaria, Germany)

• Several years of practical experience with industrial networks and edge gateways in OT environments.
• Very good knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, DNS and subnetting.
• Experience with secure remote access: VPN/IPsec, firewalls and zero-trust approaches.
• Practical experience with risk assessments, vulnerability management, coordination of penetration tests and hardening.
• Knowledge of PKI, IAM and logging: certificates, MFA/RADIUS/SSO and SIEM integration.
