Specialist Projected Mode

Project overview

For a customer project in the automotive/motorcycle sector, we are looking for a specialist for Projected Mode (m/f/d) to provide timely support with software implementation.

Responsibilities

• As a specialist, you will support the software implementation of Projected Mode (e.g., Apple CarPlay, Android Auto) for display and infotainment control units in motorcycles and actively develop them.
• Together with the specialist departments, you will develop technical concepts and solution approaches for Projected Mode integration – from system architecture and interfaces to operation via the handlebar controls.
• You will participate in planning activities, e.g., scope, schedule, and release planning, as well as defining work packages and milestones.
• You will program Proofs of Concepts (POCs) yourself to quickly evaluate technical issues and secure solution approaches.
• You will technically manage suppliers and external development teams, validate their implementation status, and provide well-founded technical feedback.
• You will independently analyze error patterns (e.g., connectivity, audio/video streaming, performance), develop solutions, and drive their implementation.
• You will support validation, testing, and certification (e.g., Apple CarPlay / MFi, Android Auto) and assist with release.
• You will ensure transparency at the interfaces to E/E architecture, connectivity, HMI, and adjacent projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a comparable technical degree
• Solid background in software development, ideally in the embedded environment of the automotive or motorcycle industry (e.g., C/C++, Linux, QNX, or Android)
• Demonstrable prior experience with Projected Mode / Smartphone Integration (Apple CarPlay, Android Auto), ideally in series production projects
• Good knowledge of relevant technologies and protocols, e.g., Bluetooth, WLAN, USB, iAP2, as well as audio/video streaming
• Experience in managing and technically supporting suppliers or external development teams
• Knowledge of control unit development processes (V-model, Automotive SPICE, requirements, change, and release management)
• High technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and a hands-on mentality
• Structured, independent, and solution-oriented way of working
• Willingness to work regularly on-site at the customer's premises
• Fluent German and English language skills
