Strategic Purchaser – Karlskoga

We are now looking for an experienced strategic purchaser for a consulting assignment with our client in the defense industry in Karlskoga. You will have a central role in developing and strengthening the client's supplier base with a focus on competitiveness, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

In the role, you will work both strategically and operationally with supplier development, negotiations, and purchasing strategies. You have a broad network and collaborate closely with internal functions, project organizations, and external suppliers.

About the assignment

As a strategic purchaser, you are responsible for developing and managing your own supplier base and ensuring long-term sustainable and business-like supplier relationships.

Responsibilities

Responsibility for and continuous development of your own supplier base.

Developing, implementing, and following up on supplier strategies.

Negotiating, managing, and further developing supplier agreements.

Supporting business units' projects and programs with commercial expertise.

Leading cross-functional teams with a focus on efficiency and cost savings.

Conducting request for quotations (RFQ), evaluating offers, and negotiating prices and commercial terms.

Ensuring compliance with the client's purchasing strategies, policies, and procedures.

Building and developing long-term collaborations with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Requirements

To be considered for the assignment, we expect you to have:

Seniority level 3 or 4, corresponding to approximately 3-7 or 8-12 years of relevant work experience.

Documented experience in strategic purchasing and supplier development.

Higher education in technology, economics, or another relevant field.

Experience working with supplier strategies, commercial issues, and purchasing processes.

Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

Good knowledge of MS Office.

Experience with ERP systems, such as IFS or SAP, as well as MPS and Business Intelligence systems.

Swedish citizenship and the ability to undergo and pass a security vetting according to applicable security protection regulations.

Meritorious

It is meritorious if you have:

Experience in contract negotiations and commercial agreements.

Experience in purchasing and development of industrial articles.

Experience with machined or injection-molded plastic, packaging, or other non-metallic components.

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is business-driven, analytical, and structured with the ability to see the big picture and make well-founded decisions. You are communicative and relationship-building and enjoy collaborating with various functions and external partners.

You have an independent way of working, are confident in negotiation situations, and have the ability to drive strategic purchasing issues forward. You are motivated by creating long-term results and contributing to efficient, competitive supplier collaborations.
