A leading technology company is looking for an experienced Security Architect / Security Specialist to support the development and certification of secure products within a highly regulated technology environment.

This is a 24-month contract position, with an ASAP start and a requirement to work at least 2 days per week on-site in Stuttgart.

The Role

You will be responsible for designing and evaluating security architectures, conducting threat and risk analyses, and ensuring that security requirements are incorporated throughout the product development lifecycle.

The position combines security architecture, product security, regulatory compliance and certification, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working between engineering, security and regulatory requirements.

Contract Details

• Design and evaluate security architectures and security concepts.
• Define and review security measures against project security objectives.
• Incorporate security requirements at the conceptual and architectural level.
• Support development teams in implementing security requirements and secure-by-design principles.
• Conduct structured threat analyses and derive security requirements.
• Perform risk assessments covering threats, vulnerabilities and potential attack scenarios.
• Translate security findings into practical technical and architectural measures.
• Ensure information security requirements are addressed across projects.
• Work with established security frameworks and processes, including ISO 27001 and NIS-2.
• Apply relevant European cybersecurity legislation and regulatory requirements, including:
• Cyber Resilience Act (CRA)
• Radio Equipment Directive (RED)
• Data Act
• Contribute to the development of secure products from requirements through implementation.
• Support approval, assessment and certification processes.
• Work with security processes based on Common Criteria and BSI IT-Grundschutz.
• A completed degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable technical discipline.
• Practical professional experience in Cyber Security and/or IT Security.
• Experience working with established security processes and methodologies.
• Practical knowledge of Common Criteria.
• Experience with approval and/or certification processes.
• Knowledge and practical experience with BSI IT-Grundschutz.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 27001 and NIS-2.
• Practical experience applying relevant EU cybersecurity regulations, particularly CRA, RED and/or the Data Act.
• Demonstrable experience in secure product development and secure-by-design principles.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering and development teams.
• Willingness and ability to work at least 2 days per week on-site in Stuttgart.

Salary: Approximately €72,000–€110,000 gross annually, depending on experience and seniority

Salary Guide

Mid-Level — €72k–€84k

Suitable for candidates with solid cyber security experience, threat and risk analysis expertise, knowledge of ISO 27001 / BSI IT-Grundschutz, and initial exposure to product security and certification.

Senior — €84k–€110k

Suitable for candidates with strong security architecture experience, secure product development expertise, Common Criteria knowledge, and proven experience implementing CRA/NIS-2/RED requirements and certification processes.
