Job description

Seeking a consultant with 3-5 years of experience to provide development support and assist management and control functions for a department in property management and development. The role involves supporting the management group, coordinating risk management, information security (NIS2), and planning leadership activities.

Project overview

Background/Information about the project

Management and governance in the department for property management and development are conducted through four main groups. The department's unit managers are organized into two operational areas, which are in turn organized under the department's management group.

Role description

The consultant shall primarily work with the department management group and its two operational areas, but assignments may also involve unit managers and experts within the organization. The consultant will also collaborate with other departments and central coordinating functions.

The assignment consists of two interconnected work areas, development support and support for management and control functions.

Development support

The consultant shall provide development support to the department management. Tasks related to development support may include developing the department's work with risks, coordinating work with information security based on the so-called NIS2 directive, and proposing and driving development initiatives. The assignment does not require expert knowledge in these areas, but the consultant must be able to familiarize themselves with them with support from others and be able to drive the work forward.

The department's risk management may, for example, involve understanding and following up on operational risks for the department's management groups. The consultant will coordinate with the property management's operational controller to understand the methods and structure for the work, and based on that, book time for risk workshops. The consultant will act as a sounding board during these workshops and subsequently process the material. Based on the annual cycle, the consultant will later support the managers in follow-up and reporting.

Support for management and control functions

The consultant shall support the department in planning and executing its management work. The assignment involves understanding and following up on issues decided within the department management group, preparing own issues where documentation may need to be gathered and processed, and coordinating reports based on the property management's annual cycle.

The consultant will, for example, participate in the management group meetings and may bring up an issue to gather more information, or ensure that an issue is placed on the agenda at a later time. Preparing own issues can, for example, be done based on a development assignment.

The consultant also provides qualified support in planning the department management's work. Together with the department manager and operational managers, the consultant plans the department management group's weekly meetings, ensures that participants are invited and informed about their agenda items, and summarizes the management group's decisions in the agenda during and after the meeting.

The consultant coordinates the development and follow-up of steering products such as the operational plan and current status analysis, and for this purpose needs to understand the department's issues and act as a sounding board. The consultant should be accustomed to understanding issues outside their area of expertise, booking meetings and workshops to gather expert knowledge from others, and qualifying the processing of various types of documentation.

The scope and content of the assignment are flexible over time, and the assignment is ongoing until the need for support no longer exists.
