Team Lead Operational Purchasing / Dispatching

Project overview

For our client in special vehicle construction, we are looking for an experienced Team Lead Operational Purchasing / Dispatching on an interim basis, who will take over the operational leadership of the team, stabilize material supply, and actively support daily operations.

Framework Conditions

• Start: Immediately
• Duration: Expected until February 2027 or until permanent replacement
• Workload: Full-time
• Location: Laupheim area, fully on-site (details only possible in the second step)
• Project Type: Interim Management / Line Function
• Reporting Line: Initially direct report to the CTO, prospectively to the new SCM Manager
• Language: German and English, very good knowledge of both

Responsibilities

• Interim takeover of team leadership in operational purchasing and dispatching
• Professional and disciplinary leadership of the existing team
• Stabilization of the organization after several short-term personnel departures
• Active operational support of the purchasing and dispatching team in daily business
• Ensuring reliable material availability for production
• Management and escalation of critical supplier and supply issues
• Monitoring and optimization of material stocks and supply situations
• Close coordination with CTO, Production, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management
• Structured preparation and support of the handover to a long-term successor

Requirements

• Several years of professional experience in operational purchasing and/or material dispatching
• Sound leadership experience in purchasing, supply chain management, or dispatching
• Experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally in mechanical, vehicle, or plant construction
• Confident use of ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Sound knowledge of supplier management, material supply, and inventory management
• Strong hands-on mentality and willingness to actively participate operationally
• Experience in dealing with critical supply situations and in escalation management
• High communication and assertiveness skills in a dynamic production environment
• Very good German and English skills
