Responsibilities

To complete the data migration from TERAdata to Azure (cloud) by the end of the year.

Job requirements

• Technical final responsibility within the taskforce
• Analyzing and solving complex migration issues on the Azure Data Platform
• Reviewing data lineage, data quality, and migration impact
• Solution directions for complex cases: XML processing, data modeling, and reporting migrations
• Coaching medior and junior engineers
• Translating architectural frameworks into reusable patterns, in coordination with architecture and delivery teams
• Monitoring technical quality, performance, and maintainability
• Supporting decision-making with impact analyses and technical advice

The Information Provision (IV) concern component of the Tax Administration is set up to deliver all ICT facilities for the processes of the Tax Administration. The IV component Integration Business Services (IBS) Income Tax (IH) produces those facilities in line with the primary process of the Income Tax chain. We work on one of the most business-critical systems in the Netherlands, where many applications are produced and integrated into one working solution by IV IBS Income Tax. Quality is paramount in realizing products and services for citizens, companies, and tax administration employees.

To be able to respond quickly and agilely to the wishes of our stakeholders in the future, we continuously invest in the renewal of our products and organize our working methods in such a way that we deliver the desired results in collaboration with many parties. We are preparing and executing large-scale adjustments in the application landscape of Income Tax. We do this multi-year and in a controlled manner, so that the Tax Administration processes we support can continue to run unimpeded, while also being renewed. This demands a lot from us as an IV organization.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in Data & Analytics
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a technical lead role
• Extensive experience with building and modernizing data platforms on Azure
• Experience with government and/or data-intensive organizations is a strong plus
• Experience with migration, modernization, and transformation projects in complex chains is preferred
• Azure Data Platform (including Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory)
• Power BI: data models and reporting
• Strong SQL knowledge and Azure Solution Architecture
• Data warehousing and dimensional modeling (star/snowflake)
• ETL/ELT principles and performance tuning
• Azure DevOps: Pipelines, Repos (Git), Boards, and CI/CD
• Python, Scala, dbt, and Microsoft Fabric
• Preferred
• XML processing and data lineage tooling
• Security-by-design and data governance (e.g., Unity Catalog, GDPR)
• Technical leadership, strong analytical skills, decisive
• Stakeholder management, coaching, results-oriented
• An excellent salary;
• A contract for the duration of the assignment, with a desire to work towards a permanent contract;
