Job description
Seeking a Senior Mobile Tech Lead to oversee the technical responsibility for a complete native iOS and Android mobile application redesign, including the development of a .NET/C# BFF on Azure. The role involves ensuring architectural consistency, API longevity, and smooth deployment cycles.
Project overview
Context
Our client, a direct insurance player in France, is undertaking a complete redesign of its public mobile application in native iOS and Android.
Its most sensitive user journeys (subscription, strong authentication, claim reporting with photo capture, payment) require uncompromising system integration, fluidity, and performance, excluding the use of a cross-platform abstraction layer.
This redesign is based on the construction of a mobile BFF (Backend-For-Frontend) hosted on Azure, intended to absorb the complexity of the historical backend and expose API contracts optimized for mobile use to both applications. You will join a multidisciplinary squad within the Software Engineering & IT Innovation department.
The mission
As a Senior Mobile Tech Lead, you will hold the technical responsibility for the redesign on both platforms and the BFF backend. Your role will be to ensure architectural consistency, the longevity of API contracts, and the fluidity of deployment cycles.
You will ensure technical convergence between iOS and Android (same patterns, conventions, and quality requirements), design and develop the BFF in .NET / C#, and support the skill development of the team's mobile developers. You will bridge the gap with backend teams in the domain to evolve the IS towards business-oriented APIs, while translating platform constraints into clear decisions for Product and Design.
Your deliverables
- Target application architecture and iOS / Android convergence rules
- Application backend, code, and API contracts for the mobile BFF (.NET / C# on Azure)
- Backward compatibility and API interface versioning strategy
- Consolidated CI/CD pipelines under Azure DevOps (build automation, signing, provisioning, distribution)
- End-to-end observability chain (correlated traces terminal/BFF/APIs, crash reporting)
- Progressive deployment and feature flipping mechanisms
- Technical architecture documentation, code reviews, and development standards
