Description

For a long-term customer project, we are currently looking for an experienced Technical Lead / Engineering Lead (m/f/d) with a strong C++ background and experience in the technical leadership of software development teams.

We are looking for a personality who will take on technical responsibility for an established software solution as well as professionally lead and develop a cross-functional team of developers and QA specialists.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership of a cross-functional team of approx. 10 software engineers and QA specialists
• Coaching and mentoring of the team as well as promotion of ownership, personal responsibility and a modern engineering culture
• Technical responsibility for an established and business-critical software solution
• Further development and definition of the technical roadmap together with Product Management
• Active technical participation through code reviews, prototyping and technical deep dives
• Modernization and further development of a grown C++ codebase
• Introduction of clear module boundaries and well-defined interfaces
• Improvement of testability, maintainability and independent further development of individual components
• Continuous improvement of code quality, test coverage and software delivery processes
• Close cooperation with Architecture, Security, Product Management and other development teams

Requirements

Project Framework

• Several years of experience as a Technical Lead, Engineering Lead, Lead Developer or in a comparable position
• Experience in the professional leadership and development of software development teams
• Very strong technical background in software development, especially with C++
• Very good knowledge in the Windows environment
• Experience with Win32, MFC, MSVC as well as COM/ActiveX
• Good knowledge of Qt, ideally Qt 6
• Experience with PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of C# is an advantage
• Experience with the modernization of large or historically grown software solutions and codebases
• Good understanding of software architecture, modularization, interface design and software quality
• Experience in cooperation with Architecture, Security, QA and Product teams
• Experience in building a modern engineering culture as well as coaching technical teams
• Very good German language skills are mandatory
• Willingness for regular on-site appointments in Koblenz
