Technical Project Manager Drivetrain Systems

Project overview

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager for the development of drivetrain systems in the wind energy sector. In this role, you will be independently responsible for the steering and coordination of development projects, particularly in the area of pitch bearings and associated drivetrain systems for wind turbines.

Your tasks include overseeing the entire product development process – from requirements definition, design, and development to plant and field tests, and series production transfer. You will coordinate closely with suppliers, development partners, and internal departments, and plan and structure project activities, including the technical verification of complex electromechanical systems. Continuous monitoring of project progress, deadlines, risks, and technical challenges is also part of your responsibilities, as is the creation of project-relevant documentation and status reports.

Furthermore, you will work with international engineering teams on the conception and optimization of drivetrain systems.

Requirements

Completed degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a comparable field. You have sound experience in the design, monitoring, and measurement analysis of pitch bearings and drivetrain systems, ideally from the wind energy sector. Very good knowledge of development, design, and verification of drive components is required. Practical experience in technical project management and common project management methods complete your profile. Strong communication skills, a structured way of working, and very good English skills are essential. The location is Rostock with a hybrid working model.
