Job description

Project overview

Alba Partners is an independent, specialist consultancy with offices in Edinburgh, London and Dubai. We deliver complex, regulatory change for financial services and public sector clients, across risk, resilience and cyber, data, analytics and AI, and change and transformation.

Our work is senior led. The people who shape the strategy are the people who deliver it, and our leaders have worked inside the types of institutions we now advise. We have no product to sell, so our advice serves the client.

Purpose

Bring the client's technical model together with the technology standards, systems and procedures of a newly acquired company. Start by documenting what integration would look and feel like, so decisions can be made before delivery begins.

Context

Key responsibilities

Essential experience

  • The client has an established technical model.
  • The client has recently acquired a company with its own standards, systems and procedures.
  • Document the current state of both technology estates, covering infrastructure, software, cloud and vendors.
  • Identify overlaps, gaps and conflicts between the two sets of standards and procedures.
  • Define target-state options, with trade-offs, risks and rough effort for each.
  • Describe what integration looks and feels like in practice for users, support teams and suppliers.
  • Produce an integration roadmap and decision log that senior stakeholders can act on.
  • Engage technical owners and vendors on both sides to validate findings.
  • Hand the agreed approach into delivery and to the Service Transition Manager.
  • Proven post-acquisition or post-merger technology integration, or comparable consolidation work.
  • Broad technical grounding across IT infrastructure, software, cloud platforms and vendor landscapes. Breadth is the requirement, and depth in one area is a bonus.
  • Strong analysis and documentation skills, including current-state and target-state operating models.
  • Able to challenge and influence technical leads and senior stakeholders.
  • Working-level experience of vendor contracts and licensing implications.
  • Financial Services experience
