Sub-Project Manager IPv6 – Public Sector

Project overview

For a project in the public sector, we are looking for an experienced sub-project manager for the introduction of IPv6. The person will be responsible for the planning, management, and implementation of a defined sub-project and will coordinate internal departments, technical teams, and external service providers.

Responsibilities

• Planning and management of the sub-project for the introduction and migration to IPv6.
• Creation and maintenance of the project plan, including milestones, resources, and dependencies.
• Coordination of the analysis of existing network, infrastructure, and application landscapes regarding their IPv6 capability.
• Coordination of implementation with network, security, infrastructure, and application teams.
• Coordination of addressing, migration, and operating concepts, including dual-stack scenarios.
• Management of tests, pilot projects, and rollouts, as well as support for operational handover.
• Monitoring of risks, quality, and deadlines, as well as regular reporting to the overall project management.
• Preparation and moderation of workshops and coordination meetings.

Requirements

• Several years of experience in managing IT infrastructure or network projects, ideally with a focus on IPv6.
• Sound understanding of IPv6 and the migration of existing IPv4 infrastructures.
• Knowledge of IP addressing, routing, DNS, DHCPv6, and network security.
• Experience in coordinating complex IT landscapes and various stakeholders.
• Ideally, project experience in the public sector or in government environments.
• Structured, self-reliant way of working, as well as strong communication and assertiveness skills.
• Very good German language skills.
• Willingness and availability to undergo an extended security check (SÜ2). An existing SÜ2 is an advantage.
