Test Engineer – ISTQB/SQL/XML Technologies/Agile/Banking

Project / Role: For a project in the banking and financial services sector, we are looking for an experienced Test Engineer. You will support the quality assurance of software solutions and bring sound experience in SQL-based test activities as well as in handling XML technologies. Collaboration takes place in an agile project environment according to SAFe or Scrum.

Responsibilities

• Analyze existing document logic and derive test cases for complex rules, text modules, and data enrichment.
• Design and implement an automated old/new comparison based on the XML data stream from OUTPUT, and check content, layout, and output formats.
• Create and maintain use-case-based test data, synthetically or anonymized.
• Capture document triggers and co-develop test mechanisms for time-controlled, non-manually triggerable documents such as reminders.
• Perform integration, end-to-end, performance, and mass tests; the annual output volume is around 100 million pages.
• Test physical printing and digital output channels, including output control, bundling, and job processing.
• Analyze, document, and retest errors together with development, and support business departments in UAT.

Role: Test Engineer

• Experience as a Test Engineer in the banking environment.
• Very good knowledge of XML, XPath/XSLT, and SQL, as well as experience with large amounts of data.
• Experience in creating and managing test data, including anonymization.
• ISTQB Foundation Level or comparable qualification; Advanced Test Automation Engineer is an advantage.
• Experience in agile teams, such as Scrum or SAFe, as well as an analytical, structured, and independent way of working.
• Impeccable reputation with no debt enforcement or criminal record entries.
• German – Very good knowledge (at least C1)
• English – Fluent in spoken and written word
