Job description
Innovative aerospace company seeks an experienced Test Engineer specializing in vibration and environmental testing for satellite technology. The role involves operating and maintaining vibration test systems, supporting environmental qualification tests, and contributing to the development and analysis of satellite platforms.
Project overview
About the Position
For an innovative company in the aerospace industry, we are looking for an experienced Test Engineer (m/f/d) with a focus on vibration and environmental testing.
The company develops, manufactures, and tests state-of-the-art satellite technology. In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute to exciting projects from various technical disciplines and take responsibility for development and analysis as well as practical tests and operational support.
As part of a small, dedicated team, you will play an important role in the development and qualification of various satellite platforms. You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of vibration testing systems and support extensive environmental qualification tests, ranging from individual components to fully integrated satellites.
The focus is on practical work with electrodynamic vibration test systems (shakers) and associated equipment. In addition, you will support other environmental tests as needed, for example with temperature test chambers, shock test systems, and thermal vacuum chambers (TVAC).
We are looking for a proactive, technically savvy individual who enjoys working in a dynamic environment with technicians and engineers, takes independent responsibility, and wants to continuously expand their expertise.
Responsibilities
- Conducting Tests
- Programming and operating vibration controllers and electrodynamic vibration test systems of various models
- Performing practical tasks such as setting up Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and measurement technology, as well as inspections
- Analyzing and resolving technical problems with shakers, data acquisition systems (DAQ), and sensors
- Supporting additional environmental tests, including operating various computer-controlled and manual test equipment such as shock systems, data acquisition systems, temperature and vacuum chambers
- Development and Validation of Test Fixtures and Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
- Evaluating and characterizing test fixtures for vibration testing
- Monitoring and supporting procurement, machining, assembly, and load testing
- Continuous Improvement and Process Development
- Proactively improving existing test setups, test stations, and procedures to increase the efficiency and reliability of test processes
- Documentation and Communication
- Meticulously creating technical reports, documenting test results, and all other necessary documents, such as operating manuals
- Managing the inventory of sensors and test fixtures, and performing regular maintenance and calibration work to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Coordinating with test campaign managers and lead engineers to maintain efficient test processes
