UX Lead (Consultant) - National Digital Health Programme
Responsibilities
- Lead user research, service design and interaction design for a national-scale digital service
- Turn research insight into design decisions, prototypes and clear recommendations
- Ensure services are accessible, inclusive and meet government digital standards
- Work with clinicians, policy colleagues and senior stakeholders to align design priorities
- Work in agile, multidisciplinary teams, mentoring colleagues and championing user-centred design
Requirements
- Management consultancy or professional services background
- Proven experience leading UX or user-centred design on digital products or services at scale
- Experience in NHS, DHSC or wider public sector
- Strong portfolio covering research, design and testing, including accessibility
- A collaborative, empathetic style and the confidence to influence at senior level

Working pattern: Hybrid, 3 days per week in office
Job Type: Contract (Permanent also considered)
About the role
We're building out a digital product team (~10 positions split between product managers, delivery managers and UX leads). Therefore we're looking for UX Leads with consultancy experience at several levels. You'll work within a leading consultancy's health advisory team on a major national digital health programme, shaping how services look and feel for the people who use them, and working closely with product and delivery colleagues and senior stakeholders.
Please note we can only consider applicants with experience delivering for the NHS, DHSC or wider public sector.
