Web Developer - WordPress

Responsibilities

• Coordination of requirements and consultation on suitable web platforms; preferably WordPress
• Development of a clear site structure and navigation based on content provided by the client
• Technical setup and configuration of hosting, domain, DNS, and SSL certificate in coordination with the client
• Configuration and implementation of the website
• Consideration of digital accessibility requirements, especially WCAG 2.1 AA and the BFSG requirements relevant to the project
• Technical implementation of data protection-relevant functions, especially cookie consent; data protection and imprint content will be provided by the client
• Securing the installation, including appropriate updates, user rights, and basic security measures
• Implementation of basic SEO measures as well as optimization of loading times and performance
• Conducting tests and fixing identified errors
• Briefing the client on editorial maintenance and updating of the website
• Handover of the website, including brief documentation of essential settings and maintenance processes

• Several years of experience in building corporate websites
• Knowledge in hosting, domain, SSL, and CMS security
• Experience with responsive design and accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA / BFSG)
• Knowledge in GDPR-compliant website implementation (cookie consent, data protection, imprint)
• Basic knowledge in SEO and performance optimization
• Ability to derive a suitable site structure from client content
• Experience in client briefing and documentation
• Confident use of MS Office and documentation tools
• Independent, structured, and solution-oriented approach, as well as strong customer orientation
• Good communication skills and German language proficiency in speaking and writing
• Several years of practical experience in the conception and implementation of websites
• Experience with themes, plugins, and corporate designs
• Practice in hosting, domain, DNS, and SSL configuration as well as security
• Knowledge in responsive and accessible web design
• Experience with cookie consent as well as technical SEO and performance measures
• Ability to structure website content in a user-friendly manner
• Experience in independent implementation within tight deadlines and in client handover
